Thursday, November 13th the powerhouse ensemble Reverie Road will be performing at Montana State University Billings’ Petro Theatre at 7:00PM. 

Celebrated as some of today’s most accomplished folk artists, Reverie Road pushes the boundaries of tradition with stunningly innovative interpretations that retain the heart of the genre while embracing a modern twist. Their ability to weave a rich tapestry of Irish music into a cinematic experience is stunning, and their distilled airs, continental waltzes, and high-energy reels and jigs will leave your heart soaring and your toes tapping!

The genre-defying Celtic ensemble, units founding Solas members Winifred Horan (fiddle) and John Williams (accordion) with former Gaelic Storm fiddler Katie Grennan and Steinway Artist Jazz and Raga pianist Utsav Lal. Together, these four exceptional musicians are celebrated as some of today’s most accomplished traditional and virtuosic folk artists, captivating audiences worldwide from stages to studios for over three decades.

Winifred Horan is an American violinist and fiddler of Irish descent. After classical training, she played with the all-female Celtic music ensemble Cherish the Ladies before co-founding the award winning and renowned American Irish band Solas.  She is also a nine-time champion National Irish step dancer and an All-Ireland fiddle champion.

Fellow Solas founding member, John Williams, is internationally regarded as one of the foremost players of Irish music today. With five All-Ireland titles to his credit, John is the only American-born competitor ever to win first place in the Senior Concertina category. His additional talents on flute, button accordion, bodhran, and piano distinguish him as a much sought after multi-instrumentalist in the acoustic scene around the world.

Katie Grennan’s traditional fiddle playing carries the articulation of a gifted classical musician tempered by the soul of a champion Irish dancer. Her wide-ranging experiences as an international touring performer in both live stage productions and television have given her a unique platform as an ambassador for the music of her heart. In 2024, Katie was awarded Female Musician of the Year by Chicago-based radio program Ireland Tonight.

Pianist, Utsav Lal, has performed several concerts with a repertoire of Indian ragas at venues including Carnegie Hall, New York, John F. Kennedy Center, Washington DC, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, and others. His is recognized for his “Ragas to Reels” concert tours that bring together Indian classical music and Traditional Irish music in a piano and flute combination.

Reverie Road released their much-anticipated debut, self-titled album in early 2024, which immediately made waves in the Irish Traditional music genre. Even before they completed their 25-city album national launch tour across the United States, the album was awarded the coveted “Debut Album of the Year” title by Ireland Tonight.
