Recognizing & Encouraging Montana’s Musical Talent!

Every two years Montana music students are invited to compete for opportunities to perform with Montana’s Symphony Orchestras and win cash prizes in the Montana Association of Symphony Orchestras (MASO) Young Artist Competition. The recent competition was held on January 12, 2019. This was the 15th MASO Young Artist Competition and open to Montana musicians ages 13 to 22 to perform a work for solo instrument with orchestral accompaniment. Students who are attending college out-of-state are eligible if they have retained their Montana resident status (proof of residence may be requested.) Past winners of this competition are ineligible to compete again in the same division. For the purpose of eligibility and division placement, a contestant’s age will be determined by his/her age on January 1, of the year of competition.  (next competition 2021.)
