Missoula Symphony Invites Audiences to Dive into Masterworks 3 – Oceans of Sound

The Missoula Symphony Orchestra warmly invites music lovers of all ages to experience Oceans of Sound, the third concert in its acclaimed Masterworks series for the 2025/2026 season. Masterworks 3 – Oceans of Sound will be presented at the University of Montana’s Dennison Theatre, with performances on Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 8 at 3:00 PM.

 

Dive into a mesmerizing musical journey with Oceans of Sound, a program that explores the depths of emotion and the vastness of musical expression. This concert features the world premiere of The Places Where We Meet Will Never Be the Same by Missoula composer Bryan Kostors, a thought-provoking new work that reflects on change, memory, and connection.

 

Renowned pianist Gabriela Martinez joins the Missoula Symphony to perform Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, a piece filled with both youthful brilliance and deep romanticism. We will again collaborate with the Missoula Youth Symphony in a side-by-side performance on Bedřich Smetana’s famous The Moldau. The evening concludes with the famed impressionistic composer, Claude Debussy’s La Mer.

 

“This program flows between the intimate and the immense,” said Missoula Symphony’s Music Director, Julia Tai. “We are also very honored to showcase Missoula’s own talented musician and composer, Bryan Kostors.”
